For Referring Clinicians
Referring a Client to Centered Connections — What You Can Expect From Us
We know you have sent clients out for testing and gotten reports that did not help you treat them. We built Centered Connections to change that. Comprehensive psychological assessments for children, teens, and adults, with reports written to be useful to you and your client. The simplest referral is telling your client about us and having them reach out directly. If you want to connect with us first, ask questions, share context, or let us know a client is coming, we welcome that too.
What You Can Expect From Our Reports
Reports Written to Actually Help You Treat Your Client
We know what it is like to receive a psychological assessment report that raises more questions than it answers. Dense with scores, light on clinical utility, written to satisfy a billing code rather than to inform treatment. That is not what we produce.
Every report from Centered Connections is written to be useful to you, to your client, and to every other provider involved in their care.
Findings presented clearly
Conclusions you can read and use, not a wall of scores with a brief summary.
Supported by the data
Diagnostic conclusions grounded in what the assessment actually found.
Built for treatment planning
Specific recommendations that translate directly into your next steps.
Built around your questions
Tell us what you need answered and the assessment is shaped to address it.
If you have specific clinical questions you would like the assessment to address, concerns you have been sitting with, hypotheses you want tested, gaps in your understanding of the client, tell us at the outset. We build the assessment around those questions. The report is built to address them.
Turnaround time following the completion of testing is typically a few weeks. When the report is complete, we sit down with your client for a dedicated feedback session. Every finding explained in plain language, with time to sit with it and ask whatever comes up. That session is not optional. It is part of every assessment we do.
If you would like to stay informed about your client’s assessment, or if you would like us to coordinate directly with you as part of their care, we are glad to do that. Once your client has signed a release of information, we can share the report with you, discuss findings, and coordinate in whatever way is most useful to you and your team. Just let us know at the outset that you would like that connection and we will make sure it happens.
Our Assessment Process
How We Work — What Your Client Can Expect

Every assessment at Centered Connections begins with a free 15-minute consultation. A chance for us to confirm that we are a good fit and begin thinking about the scope of the assessment. From there, your client meets with their testing psychologist for a clinical interview that typically runs 90 minutes to two hours before a single test is chosen. That conversation shapes everything that follows.
We do not use a standard battery. The measures we select are determined by what your client needs to understand. Their specific questions, their history, and the clinical picture that emerges from the interview. Nothing is included because it is on a checklist. Everything is included because it serves the person in front of us.
Testing typically takes place over one or two in-person sessions at our Sammamish office. Questionnaires are sent to your client and where appropriate, to informants, between sessions. The process moves at a pace that works for your client clinically and personally.
As a private pay practice, none of our assessment decisions are constrained by what an insurance company will authorize. That means nothing gets left out for financial reasons. Your client is at the center of every decision we make.
How Referrals Work
How to Refer — It Is Simpler Than You Think
There is no formal referral form. No portal to log into. No paperwork to complete on your end.
The simplest referral is telling your client about us and having them reach out directly. Your client can call us, email us, or use the contact form on our website to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. From that point we take care of the rest.
If you would like to connect with us before your client reaches out, to ask questions, share clinical context, or simply let us know someone may be coming, we welcome that. A quick call or email is all it takes. Just keep in mind that until your client has signed a release of information, we are not able to discuss clinical details or confirm their participation with you.
Once a release is in place, the door is open. We can share reports, discuss findings, answer your clinical questions, and coordinate care in whatever way serves your client best.
If you would like something to hand directly to your client, a brief overview of our services, what to expect, and how to get started, we have a one-page resource available for exactly that purpose.
Referring for Group Therapy
Referring a Client for Group Therapy
If you have a client who would benefit from group therapy, we would love to hear from you.
Our virtual groups for teens and adults meet weekly on a secure platform, led by experienced clinicians. Groups are small by design. Typically six to ten members. Everything discussed in group is confidential.

Group therapy offers something individual work often cannot. For clients who are isolated, who carry something they cannot quite put into words, or who need to hear it from someone who has been there. Group can be exactly what moves them forward.
The referral process is the same as for assessments. Tell your client about us and have them reach out directly. If you want to connect with us first, please do. And once your client has signed a release, we are happy to coordinate with you throughout.
Groups are currently forming. If you have a client you think would be a good fit, reach out. We would rather have that conversation early so we can make sure the right group is available when your client is ready.
The CMCS Connection
Integrated Care — When Your Client Needs More Than Testing
Centered Connections shares ownership with Centered Mind Counseling Services, a comprehensive therapy and psychiatry clinic serving Issaquah and Sammamish for more than ten years. Both practices share the same values and the same commitment to care.
That connection matters for your clients. If a psychological assessment reveals a need for ongoing therapy, medication management, or integrated mental health care, that team already exists. Your client does not have to start over somewhere new.
For clients who are already working with you and simply need an assessment, this means that if their needs expand, the Centered Mind Counseling Services team is already there. For clients who come to us without an existing treatment team, it means we can help connect them to the right level of care without leaving them to figure it out alone.
If you have questions about how our two practices work together, or if you would like to explore whether an integrated care pathway might be right for a specific client, we are happy to talk through it.
Let’s Work Together
Let’s Connect.
If you have questions about our services, want to talk through whether Centered Connections is the right fit for a specific client, or simply want to introduce yourself, we would love to hear from you.
We take referrals seriously. When a colleague sends us a client, we understand the trust that represents. We will honor it.
Our practice is affirming and welcoming to clients of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
